If you have been to a kids consignment sale in Kansas City, you know you want to be first to shop.

Why?

There is nothing better than getting first dibs on all the great deals.

However, you have to know about these special pre-sales in order to get in.

The best way to know about them is to get on the sale's email or text list.

When you go to a pre-sale event, it is one of the busiest times so make sure you are prepared with your needs list and for your own sanity, please try to leave the kids at home.

I remember taking my kids to a kids consignment sale before we started one and they are kids and wanted to play with all the toys.

Kids consignment sales are just that, they are consignment, gently used items.  The items don't belong to the event so it is especially important for the sale to take care of the items.  In other words, no children are aloud to play with it.

They could definitely try it before they buy it, if that is the intent.  But the toys can not be used as a baby sitter, you know what I mean?

 

Pre-Sale Admission?

Some kids consignment sales charge an admission.  Merry Go Round 4 Kids does not at this time.


What is the process once I arrive at the pre-sale?

Some sales have a list of names and they actually have to find your name on it and check it off.

Others charge a fee and just collect at the door.

Merry Go Round 4 Kids sends a text message with the VIP pre-sale pass in it.  Once you arrive, we just ask that you reply to the text with a certain code.  That's it!

 

What will I find?

At kids consignment sales you will find everything kids need from infancy to early teenage years.

Kansas City natives Kyle Arrington and Ann Chambers are the proud owners of Merry Go Round 4 Kids, the newest children’s consignment sale in the Northland.  If you are new to the concept of children’s consignment sales, let me explain.   

We all know how fast our children outgrow everything.  With Merry Go Round 4 Kids, YOU can recycle their clothes, shoes, toys, infant gear, and so much more.  Make 70% commission, the industry’s highest paid, on all sold items (75% if you volunteer 6+ hours), less a $10 consignor fee.  

Plus, you get to shop the best deals first!

If your items are tagged with another local consignment sale, NO NEED TO RETAG (contact us to see if you qualify).

At the end of the sale, you may choose to donate your unsold items to a local charity, or we will have all your items neatly SORTED FOR YOU  by your consignor ID to pick up.

Will Items Sell For Price Marked?

At Merry Go Round 4 Kids, there is no negotiating.  The price you make it is the amount the public pays.  

On the last day of the sale, you have the option to mark the tag to be 50% off.  This is recommended if you don’t want the items back in storage.

How often are the events?

The events are twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. This year the Spring sale is April 18-19, 2013.

What Can I Consign?

We accept:

 

  • Clothes preemie to junior size 14 (seasonally appropriate)
  • Shoes- (kids shoes only please)
  • Toys- Make sure all battery operated toys are in working order
  • Strollers
  • Infant seats
  • Exersaucers
  • Pack n’ plays
  • Children’s bedding
  • And anything else children need

Why do you think consignment sales are important?

We are all thinking green.  Consignment sales are recycling at its finest.  As long as kids continue to grow by leaps and bounds, families need to use their money wisely, consignment sales are an answer.

How do we staff the sales?

We run the sales with volunteers.  We use a number of men to help us set up, as this is the most physical part of the sale.  We use mothers, grandmother, fathers, and grandfathers to help keep the sale neat and organized and help our customers.  For every 3 hour shift a person works they receive $10.00 in Bonus Bucks to spend on merchandise.  Volunteer 6+ hours and consignors may choose to make 75% commission.  

Volunteers get to shop first and secure the best deals because we need you!

  • Card Stock (to create price tags that won't fall off)
  • Packing tape (to affix price tags on toys)
  • Scotch tape (to affix price tags on books)
  • Zip ties (to keep shoes together)
  • Twine (to keep similar books together)
